Admission
Admission Process
To apply for admission applicants must complete an application for the Nurse Aide program. The application fee is $50 and is non-refundable.

Applications are accepted year-round.

Applicants must select on the application the class in which he/she wishes to enroll.

It is best that applications are submitted at least 30 days prior to the class in which applicant wishes to enroll.
Selection Criteria

Applicants will be rated according to prior college credit, healthcare experience and ACT composite score.

Healthcare experience can include work as sitter/nurse aide=3 points.

Prior college credit in science or healthcare=2 points.
-
ACT composite of 16 or greater=1.

Selected students will receive an email letter informing them of the orientation date.

Students who are accepted will have a mandatory orientation session which is typically held a month before the upcoming class.

Students who do not attend orientation will forfeit their seat for the selected class and will have to reapply to the program.
Admission Requirements

Age 18 years.

Validation of high school graduation by official high school transcript, high school equivalency transcript (GED®, HiSET®, TASC™, or Mississippi Competency-Based High School Equivalency).

College transcripts.

Fingerprint & background check. Students will need to contact the Department of Public Safety to schedule fingerprinting (601-933-2600) and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department to schedule their background check (601-974-2900).

Once accepted students will have clinical requirements that will not be due until after orientation.

Students who are selected for the program, will be registered by a College official.
